The Yugoslav Final was held on March 28th at the TV Centar in Belgrade, hosted by Radoš Bajic. The winning song was chosen by an "expert" jury.

Ekstra Nena came 13th at the ESC. Sestre Barudzija were backing singers for Yugoslavia in ESC 1983. One of them - Ida Barudzija - was also a member of Aska who represented Yugoslavia in ESC 1982 and she also represented Yugoslavia in ESC 1984.
