The Russian Final was held on March 9th at the Akademicheskiy Concert Hall in Moscow, hosted by Oxana Fyodorova & Oskar Kuchera. The winner was chosen by an "expert" jury (50%) and televoting/SMS voting/internet voting (50%).

Dima Bilan previously represented Russia in ESC 2006 and came 2nd in the 2005 Russian Final. He went on to win ESC 2008. Polina Smolova represented Belarus in ESC 2006.
