The Israeli Final was held on February 29th at Neveh Ilan, hosted by Ron Leventhal and Tal Man. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 7 regional juries.

Galit Bell was eliminated in the pre-selection for the ESC. Izhar Cohen represented Israel in ESC 1978 & 1985. Doron Oren would later go on to represent Israel in ESC 1999 as a member of the group Eden.
