The Icelandic Quarter-Finals were held at the RUV TV Studios in Reykjavik, hosted by Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir & Gísli Einarsson. The winner of each quarter-final (chosen by televoting) qualified for the semi-finals. After each quarter-final there was a separate televote to select one of the two losing songs as a potential 'wildcard' for the 12th quarter-final. After the 11th quarter-final had been held an "expert" jury selected 3 of the 11 potential 'wildcards' to participate in the 12th quarter-final.
