The Finnish Final was held on February 19th at Tampere Talo hosted by Heikki Paasonen & Jaana Pelkonen. Before the final there were 4 semi-finals - click here for details: FINNISH SEMI-FINALS 2005 The winner was chosen in two rounds of voting - in the first round the top 6 were chosen by 6 regional juries and in the second round the winner was chosen by televoting.

Geir Rönning previously came 7th in the 1995 Norwegian Final, equal 2nd in 1996 & 7th in 1997. He also came 3rd in the 2002 Finnish Final and 5th in 2004. At the ESC Semi-Final he came 18th where one of his backing singers was Charles Salter who was a dancer for Finland in ESC 1994.
