The Yugoslav Final was held on March 12th at TV Studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Misa Molk. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 8 regional juries.

Aska previously provided backing vocals for all songs in the 1981 Yugoslav Final. At the ESC they came 14th. Seid Memic-Vajta represented Yugoslavia in ESC 1981.
