"Mary-Ann" - Black Lace
The UK Final was due to be held on March 8th at the Royal Albert Hall in London, hosted by Terry Wogan, but due to a strike the contest was never broadcast on TV, however the songs were played on Terry Wogan's radio show the next day. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 13 regional juries (the 14th jury in Manchester could not be contacted) who had to vote based on listening to cassette tapes of the songs.
