The Swiss Final was held on February 23rd at the TSR TV Studios in Geneva, hosted by Serge Moisson. The winner was chosen by 3 regional juries, a press jury & an "expert" jury.

Pino Gasparini previously was a member of the 'Pepe Lienhard Band' that represented Switerland at ESC 1977. Mariella Farré represented Switzerland at ESC 1983 & came 6th in the 1981 Swiss Final. At the ESC they were 12th. Rainy Day represented Switzerland at ESC 1984. Arlette Zola represented Switzerland at ESC 1982.
