The Norwegian Final was held on March 22nd at the NRK TV Studios in Oslo, hosted by Åse Kleveland. The winning song was chosen by the votes of an "expert" jury. As there was a tie at the end of the voting, the 9 members of the "expert" jury had to vote again - Sverre Kjelsberg & Mattis Hætta won the tie by 5-4.

Sverre Kjelsberg & Mattis Hætta came 16th at the ESC. Anita Skorgan represented Norway in ESC 1977 & 1979 while Jahn Teigen represented Norway in ESC 1978.
