"Theatre, theatre the curtain opens and the world is the stage"
The German Final was held on March 20th at the BR TV Studios in Munich, hosted by Caroline Reiber and Thomas Gottschalk. The winning song was chosen by the votes of approximately 1000 people who were chosen by an institute to be representative of the German population.

Katja Ebstein came 2nd at the ESC. She previously represented Germany in ESC 1970 & 1971 as well as coming 5th in the 1975 German Final.
