The Slovene Final was held on March 8th at the RTVSLO TV Studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Ula Furlan. The winner was chosen in two rounds of televoting - the first to select the top 2 and the second to select the winner.

Tinkara Kovac previously came 10th in the 1997 Slovene Final, 2nd in 1999 & 5th in 2001. At the ESC she was 25th. Omar Naber represented Slovenia in ESC 2005. Nermin Puškar was a backing singer for Bosnia in ESC 2011. Rudi Bucar was a backing singer for Slovenia in ESC 2007.
