The Icelandic Final was held on March 2nd at Laugardalshöll in Reykjavik, hosted by Fannar Sveinsson & Benedikt Valsson. Before the final there were 2 semi-finals - click here for details: ICELANDIC SEMI-FINALS 2019 The winner was chosen in two rounds of voting - in the first round the top 2 were chosen by televoting (50%) & an "expert" jury (50%) - these results were carried forward to the second round where the winner was chosen by televoting.

Hatari came 10th at the ESC. Friðrik Ómar represented Iceland in ESC 2008 in the group 'Eurobandið' & was a backing singer for Iceland in ESC 2009. Amongst his backing singers was Selma who represented Iceland in ESC 1999 & 2005 and Regína Ósk who represented Iceland in ESC 2008 in the group 'Eurobandið'. Hera Björk represented Iceland in ESC 2010 & was a backing singer for Iceland in ESC 2008, 2009 & 2015.
