ICELAND

The Icelandic Semi-Finals were held at the RUV TV Studios in Reykjavik, hosted by Guðmundur Gunnarsson & Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir. The top 2 songs in semi-finals 1 & 2 and the top 3 songs in semi-final 3 (chosen by televoting) qualified for the final. "Aftur heim" in the 3rd semi-final was originally due to be performed by Sigurjón Brink, however he died on January 17th. The song was performed by some of his friends instead. It is due to this that 3 songs were allowed to qualify from the 3rd semi-final.
