The Icelandic Final was held on February 12th at the RUV TV Studios in Reykjavik, hosted by Guðmundur Gunnarsson & Páll Óskar Hjálmtýsson. Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir was a backing singer for Iceland in ESC 2009 & 2010. Amongst her backing singers was Kristján Gíslason who represented Iceland in ESC 2001 in the duo 'Two Tricky' and was a backing singer for Iceland in ESC 2010.
Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir represented Iceland in ESC 2009.
Matthías Matthíasson previously took part in the 2006, 2007 & 2010 Icelandic Finals. Hreimur Örn Heimisson came 7th & 11th in the 2003 Icelandic Final & took part in the 2007 Icelandic Semi-Finals. Gunnar Ólason represented Iceland in ESC 2001 in the duo 'Two Tricky'. He also took part in the 2006 Icelandic Semi-Finals. Vignir Snær Vigfússon was part of the backing group for Iceland in ESC 2003. Benedikt Brynleifsson was in the backing group for Iceland in ESC 2007. Hreimur, Gunnar, Vignir & Benedikt were also all backing singers for Sigurjón Brink in the 2010 Icelandic Final. At the ESC they came 20th.
