Kayahan & Demet previously came 2nd in the 1989 Turkish Final. Kayahan also took part in the Turkish Finals of 1981 (6th), 1984, 1987 & 1988. At the ESC, Kayahan & Demet came 17th. Sevingül Bahadir & Candan Erçetin were the two female members of the group Klips ve Onlar that represented Turkey in ESC 1986. Members of the group Ultraviyole included Gür Akad who was the guitarist with the group Klips ve Onlar & Seden Kutlubay who was one of the original members of Klips ve Onlar who won the 1986 Turkish Final, but she refused to go to the ESC and was replaced by Candan Ercetin.
