"Evighet" - Carola

The Swedish Final was held at the Globe Theatre in Stockholm on March 18th, hosted by Lena Philipsson who represented Sweden in ESC 2004. Before the final there were 5 semi-finals - click here for details: SWEDISH SEMI-FINALS 2006 The winner was chosen by a combination of televoting (50%) and regional juries (50%). Carola won the televote and Andreas Johnson was the favourite of the regional juries.

Carola previously represented Sweden in ESC 1983 & 1991, winning in 1991. She also came 2nd in the 1990 Swedish Final. At the ESC, she came 5th. Magnus Bäcklund represented Sweden in the 2003 ESC in the duo Fame. Kikki Danielsson represented Sweden in the 1982 ESC in the duo Chips and in 1985 on her own.
