The Norwegian Final was held on March 30th at the NRK TV Studios in Oslo, hosted by Tande-P. The winner was chosen by 10 regional juries.

Elisabeth Andreassen previously represented Sweden in 1982 and Norway in 1985 & 1994. She also came 2nd in the 1981 Swedish Final in the group "Sweets 'n' Chips", was unplaced in 1984 and came 7th in 1990. At the ESC she was 2nd. One of the duo "To Tenorer" was Jahn Teigen, who represented Norway in ESC 1978, 1982 & 1983.
