Debbie Scerri previously took part in the 1996 Maltese Final and was a backing singer for Malta in ESC 1993. At the ESC she came 9th. Mary Spiteri represented Malta in 1992, Renato in 1975 and Georgina in 1991 (with Paul Giordimaina). Georgina was also a backing singer for Malta in 1996.
