The Danish final was held on March 16th at the Århus Music House, hosted by Camilla Miehe-Renard & Mek Pek. The winner was chosen in two rounds of televoting - the first to select the top 5 and the second to select the winner.

Anders Frandsen came 19th at the ESC. Birthe Kjær represented Denmark in ESC 1989. Lise Dandanell was a backing singer for Denmark in ESC 1984 & 1985.
