The Croatian Final was held at the Hotel Kvarner in Opatija on March 3rd, hosted by Daniela Trbovic & Ljudevit Grguric-Grga. The winner was chosen by 20 regional juries.

Maja Blagdan previously came 2nd in the 1993 Croatian Final. At the ESC she was 4th. A different line-up of Novi Fosili represented Yugoslavia at ESC 1987. One of the members of the group 'Srebrna Krila' (Mustafa Ismailovski) was also in the group when they represented Yugoslavia at ESC 1988. Divas were backing singers for Croatia at ESC 1994. Naim Ajra was a member of the group Put that represented Croatia in 1993.
