The Yugoslav Final was held on March 7th at the 'Boro i Ramiz' Hall in Pristina, hosted by Enver Petrovci. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 8 regional juries.

Doris Dragovic came 11th at the ESC. Seid Memic-Vajta represented Yugoslavia in ESC 1981 and Daniel did the same in 1983. Neda Ukraden was a backing singer for Yugoslavia in 1981, while Bozidar Wolfand did the same in 1984.
