The Swiss Final was held on February 4th at the TSI TV Studios in Lugano, hosted by Natascha Giller & Ezio Guidi. The winner was chosen by 3 regional juries (1/3), a press jury (1/3) & an "expert" jury (1/3).

Rainy Day previously came 3rd in the 1982 Swiss Final. At the ESC they were 16th, where Manuela Felice was one of their backing singers. Arlette Zola represented Switzerland at ESC 1982.
