The Swiss Final was held on March 26th at the DRS TV Studios in Zürich, hosted by Marie-Thérèse Gwerder. The winner was chosen by 3 regional juries, a press jury & an "expert" jury.

Mariella Farré previously came 6th in the 1981 Swiss Final. At the ESC, she was 15th.
