The Swiss Final was held on January 27th at the DRS TV Studios in Zürich, hosted by Christian Heeb. The winner was chosen by 3 regional juries, a press jury & an "expert" jury.

Peter, Sue + Marc & Pfuri, Gorps & Kniri came 10th at the ESC. Peter, Sue + Marc previously represented Switzerland at ESC 1971 & 1976. They also came equal 3rd in the 1973 Swiss Final, 2nd in 1974, 2nd in 1975 & 3rd in the 1978 German Final.
