The Swiss Final was held on January 18th at the DRS TV Studios in Zürich, hosted by Christian Heeb. The winner was chosen by 3 regional juries, a press jury & an "expert" jury.

Carole Vinci was also one of the performers of song 7. She previously came 4th equal in the 1977 Swiss Final. At the ESC she was equal 9th. Piera Martell represented Switzerland at ESC 1974.
