The Greek Final was held at the ERT TV Studios on March 18th, hosted by Mako Georgiadou. The winning song was chosen by a jury of 50 people composed of a mixture of "experts" and members of the public. Song 7 may have been disqualified as it was not included in the voting results.

Christie Stassinopoulou previously came 2nd in the 1979 Greek Final. At the ESC, she was 14th. Cleopatra went on to represent Greece in ESC 1992. Amongst the backing singers for Gianna Komninou were Lia Vissi who was a backing singer for Greece in ESC 1979 & Cyprus in 1982 and Stelios Goulielmos who was a backing singer for Greece in ESC 1979.
