The Finnish final was held on February 13th at the Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki, hosted by Sini Sovijärvi. The winner was chosen by 6 regional juries.

Five members of Boulevard were previously backing singers for Finland in ESC 1987. At the ESC, they came 20th. Ami Aspelund represented Finland in ESC 1983. Sonja Lumme represented Finland in ESC 1985.
