The Finnish Final was held on January 31st at the YLE TV Studios in Helsinki, hosted by Matti Elo. The winner was chosen by 7 regional juries.

Fredi previously represented Finland at ESC 1967. At the ESC he was 11th. Markku Aro represented Finland at ESC 1971.
