The Danish Final was held at the DR-TV Studios in Copenhagen on March 9th, hosted by Jørgen Mylius. The winner was chosen by 5 regional juries.

Kirsten & Søren previously represented Denmark at ESC 1984. Kirsten also came 7th in the 1983 Danish Final. At the ESC they were 11th. Tommy Seebach represented Denmark in ESC 1979 & 1981. Trax were John Hatting & Lise Haavik - John Hatting was a member of the group Brixx that represented Denmark at ESC 1982. Hanne Boel & Lise Dandanell were backing singers for Denmark at ESC 1984. Gry Johansen represented Denmark at ESC 1983.
