The Ukrainian Final was held on February 12th at the Centre of Culture and Arts of the National Aviation University in Kiev, hosted by Mariya Efrosinina & Timur Miroshnichenko. The winner was chosen by SMS voting (50%) & an "expert" jury (50%). On February 16th Alina Pash withdrew from participating at the ESC due to an investigation regarding a prior visit to Crimea. On February 22nd it was confirmed that Kalush Orchestra would participate instead.

One of the members of Kalush Orchestra was Ihor Didenchuk who represented Ukraine at ESC 2021 in the group Go_A. Kalush Orchestra went on to win ESC 2022. Michael Soul was a backing singer for Belarus at ESC 2017.
