The Swedish Semi-Finals were hosted by Carina Berg. The results were determined by a mobile phone app & televoting. Each semi-final had two rounds of voting - in the first round the song with the most votes qualified for the final. In the second round the result was determined by the mobile phone app where users were split into one of 7 age groupings (7/8) & televoting (1/8). The winner of the second round qualified for the final while the 2nd & 3rd placed songs went forward to a new voting round held at the end of the 5th semi-final where they had a second chance to qualify for the final. In this new voting round the top 2 qualified for the final - this result was determined by adding points based on the percentage of votes received in their semi-final to points based on the percentage of votes received in the second chance vote. As there was a tie for 2nd place, the points scored in the second chance vote took precedence.
