The Romanian Final was held on March 6th at Sala Sporturilor Lascar Pana in Baia Mare, hosted by Cornel Ilie, Ioana Voicu & Jo. Before the final there was a semi-final - click here for details: ROMANIAN SEMI-FINAL 2016 The winner was chosen by televoting. On April 22nd, the EBU withdrew Romanian TV from all member services due to the non-payment of debts, meaning that they could no longer participate in the ESC.

Ovidiu Anton previously came equal 13th in the 2010 Romanian Final (in the group 'Pasager'), 5th in 2012, equal 10th in 2013 & 3rd in 2015. M I H A I represented Romania in ESC 2006.
