The Romanian Final was held on March 6th at the Globus Circus Arena in Bucharest, hosted by Horia Brenciu & Valentina Pelinel. The winner was chosen by 5 regional juries (50%) & televoting (50%).

Paula Seling previously came 4th in the 1998 Romanian Final, equal 3rd in 2003, equal 6th in 2004 & 3rd in 2008. Ovi took part in the 2006 Norwegian Semi-Finals & the 2009 Norwegian Final. At the ESC, Paula Seling & Ovi came 3rd. Luminita Anghel represented Romania at ESC 2005, Lucia Dumitrescu was a backing singer for Romania at ESC 2009, Kamara represented Romania in ESC 2007 (in the group 'Todomondo') & Connect-R represented Moldova at ESC 2006.
