The Israeli Final was held on February 13th at the G.G. TV Studios in Neve Ilan near Jerusalem, hosted by Asi Azar & Rotem Sela. Before the final there were 9 shows which started on January 2nd. The winner was chosen in two rounds of voting. In the first round the singers competed in duals - the winner of each dual, chosen by a mobile phone app & an "expert" jury (who could add up to 12% for each singer) qualified to the second round. After the first round the "expert" jury awarded a 'wildcard' to the second round to one of the singers who lost their dual. In the second round the winner was chosen by the mobile phone app.

Imri Ziv was previously a backing singer for Kathleen Reiter in the 2013 Israeli Semi-Final. He was also a backing singer for Israel in ESC 2015 & 2016. At the ESC he came 23rd.
